AN2.1 Developing an IWRM Plan (small river basin or local situation)
Guideline documetn covering the process for preparing an integrated water resources management (IWRM) plan. The recommended process emphasises: • The importance of stakeholder participation in the plan; • Basing the plan on a sound understanding of the river basin and rigorous and accurate database (in the form of a GIS); • The use of modelling techniques, and presentation of outputs on GIS; • Multi-criteria analysis for prioritizing options; and • Strong implementation arrangements (with stakeholder participation) including monitoring and evaluation, and feedback to update the plan.
