EG2.1 Developing the Shiyang River Basin IWRM Plan
The goal of the Integrated Water Resources Management Plan is the implementation of the Shiyang River Basin Strategic Plan in full co-operation with stakeholders and with minimum adverse impact on communities, particularly the poor and vulnerable communities and households. The principles of integrated water resources management (IWRM) emphasise stakeholder participation. The question for water resources managers is how best to involve stakeholders in the planning process and in day to day management for implementation.
