This Manual describes how to use the Standardised Precipitation Index (SPI) method to assess the seriousness of drought conditions. The manual describes how to set up data files and makes suggestions on the presentation of results to inform drought managers. It utilises free software from the National Drought Mitigation Center in the USA.
