Personnel - Mary Murphy
Biog: Mary J. Murphy is President of Calendrium, a communications and coaching firm specializing in marketing communications and change management. She has over 25 years experience working as a communications consultant, facilitator, trainer and coach for business and government.
In the public sector, Ms. Murphy has designed and developed national social marketing strategies on a number of key policy issues in environment and human resource development. She has also worked on international environmental and health promotion projects, with the most recent being a multi-year capacity building project on climate change awareness with government officials, media, educators, and local environment officials in China. In the private sector, she has trained executives, provided strategic guidance on critical communications issues, and coached leaders. She has created two successful small businesses and knows how to move from the initial business idea to a thriving professional practice.
Ms. Murphy holds a Masters Degree in Environmental Studies from York University in Toronto 1983, a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and Business from the University of Alberta 1974, and is a Certified Co-active Professional Coach 2003 providing leadership coaching to executives across Canada.

Specialisation: Ms. Murphy has worked with several Canadian Government Departments – Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Canadian International Development Agency, International Development Research Centre, Environment Canada, Health Canada, Human Resources Development Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Industry Canada - in the areas of foreign policy, trade promotion, environment, health, and social policy. Over the past fifteen years she has developed and implemented communications, public education, and engagement strategies on a number of key policy issues such as Climate Change – domestic and international since 1997, Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation – 1997 Environment Ministers’ Meeting, Canada’s Foreign Overfishing Campaign – Canada’s strategy, Employment Insurance, as well as the Access North America Trade Program. In addition, she has designed and facilitated senior level management retreats, developed and delivered workplace health sessions, and provided one-on-one coaching.
